A letter

Dear Garbage Truck Driver Guy-

In the future, after picking up the garbage on one side of the street I would really appreciate it if you could just turn around and do the other side of the street.  You are the highlight of my son’s week and he just can’t handle the anticipation.

Thanks,

The mother that is always standing on her driveway watching you.

Thank you so much for reminding me, tomorrow is garbage day and I totally forgot last week. It’s been a smelly week.

I could write similar letters to the gardeners and the mailman.

Once we had the telephone guy climb the pole in our back yard. You’ve never seen such happy kids!

That would just make your life too easy. I mean, what else do you have to do besides stand in the driveway and wait for the garbage truck to come back?

I hope Garbage Truck Driver Guy responds positively to your letter. (I also hope he reads your blog because you probably didn’t actually print this out and give it to him.

They’re building townhouses right across the street from us. Any time Aaron gets fussy I just have to hold him in front of the window and let him watch.

Does your garbage man typically just do the one side of the street and then yours on another day? Is it like a main street or something? Interesting.

My beef is not with the garbage man, but the lovely people in my neighborhood who refuse to put their garbage cans away after collection day. Hello, people, this is a sidewalk! Not a trash can storage lane!

Bythelbs would not like our street. My son has taken to putting our garbage cans out on the sidewalk every day. Our garbage cans are always on the street. They’re always being put back, too. But then they come right back out.

Garbage day was the highlight of my son’s week as well, but now he has to go to school too early to see the garbage man. For a while this was a real issue, but apparently he is dealing with the issue by putting the cans out every day, maybe just hoping the garbage truck will make a surprise visit.
